Back to the office? here’s what you should wear
Post COVID, many offices have taken on more of a relaxed environment,
inviting more of a casual dress-code for its workers. Gone are the days
(at least for now) of fitted dresses, heels, and stockings, and HELLO comfy
slacks and flats. Now, just because your work environment is relaxed doesn’t
give you a free pass to dress like a slob - continue to take pride in your appearance.
There are many ways to remain comfortable and casual but still chic and
professional. This outfit is the perfect feminine casual look for work. Investing
in a nice pair of slacks and relaxed fit button-up is a smart move for summer.

Back to the office does not mean back to our old way of dressing! If you work in an
environment that requires a suit, try mixing in some fresh new items that can also
keep you comfortable. The shirt in this look is a prime example as it features a
placket that keeps the buttons hidden and can replace the need for wearing a tie.
In fact, you may not need the blazer on those warmer days, since the monochromatic
shirt and pants create a chic look on their own. Each of the pieces in this look can
easily pair with existing items in your wardrobe, as well. Swap in a white shirt when
you do need a more classic look or a patterned shirt when you want to show off
more of your personal style. When paired with the coordinating tan leather
briefcase and shoes, you can complete a comfortable, updated, and professional
look that can stand out against a stuffy basic suit any day.

Comfortable dresses are a chic and comfortable option for summer work attire.
Pair a midi-dress with some fun accessories to dress it up a bit for a more work
appropriate look. A large tote bag is a woman’s best friend in the summer
because it allows you to stuff your commuting shoes (if needed) inside. Like
many of us in the DMV, you take public transportation into the office. The
last thing you want is to be wearing heels during the commute, all day at
work, and during your commute home. Invest in a comfortable pair of
commuting sandals or loafers for summer.

The office environment can be very cold to help accommodate everyone’s
personal needs in the warmer weather. This look will keep you comfortable
and chic amidst the varying temperatures you will experience throughout the
workday, thanks to the layering of textures & fabrics. The knit polo has some
weight to keep you warm at your desk, while providing the breathability you
will need when you step out for your break. If you’re still feeling too chilled,
throw on the lightweight cardigan to keep you warm. The trousers are made
of a lightweight Italian cotton that can provide more comfort than a traditional
wool trouser. The higher, self-belted waist on the trouser helps you show off that
personal style, with a bit of vintage European flair. Nothing can beat being
cozy while working from home, but there are definitely ways to bring those
comforts to the office!
